Burning Bridges AI: Higgsfield vs CapCut vs one-photo tools

Three ways to make the Burning Bridges AI video, compared on what you need, how much control you get and what it costs.

4 min read · Updated

The short answer

Pick by how much control you want. Higgsfield made most of the viral clips and gives you the most control, but you need a source video, credits and some practice. CapCut is free to start and good for editing, but its AI tools need a prompt and a few tries. One-photo tools, ours included, make the whole clip from a single photo with no prompt, for a fixed price.

Higgsfield

Higgsfield launched Genjutsu on September 1, 2026. It transforms an existing video in two ways. Motion Transfer keeps a clip’s motion, camera and timing and rebuilds the scene from your reference images. Object Swap replaces one character, outfit or object and leaves the rest of the shot alone. Many of the viral TV-show versions credit it in their captions.

  • You need: a source clip of 4 to 30 seconds, reference images, and credits. Each run shows its credit cost before you generate.
  • Good for: recasting a whole scene, several characters at once, and keeping the exact timing of the original.
  • Watch out for: a learning curve, credit costs that rise with resolution, and content filters that stop some generations.

For this trend the source clip is usually the music video itself, which is someone else’s footage. Bear that in mind before you post.

CapCut

CapCut is a video editor with AI video tools built on ByteDance’s Seedance models. They can turn a photo and a prompt into a clip and export it in 9:16, 16:9 or 1:1.

  • You need: one photo, a prompt (ours is on the prompt page), and patience for a few retries.
  • Good for: trimming, adding text, joining shots, and templates you find on TikTok.
  • Watch out for: free generation limits that aren’t published, and getting all five beats into one clip.

One-photo tools

A batch of single-purpose sites appeared for this trend from October 8. You upload one photo and get the finished party clip back. They look alike but differ in ways that matter:

  • Price: roughly $5 to $13 for one video, and some only sell subscriptions.
  • Format: many copy the music video’s widescreen 16:9 framing; a few make vertical 9:16.
  • Sound: some put the song in the file, others leave it silent so you add the official sound in the app.
  • Sign-up: some ask you to log in before you can even upload.
  • Free: none of the ones we checked make a full clip for free.

Ours: one photo of you or your pet, no prompt, vertical 9:16 or wide 16:9, no watermark, ready in about 3 minutes. One video is $4.99 with no subscription. The clip is silent so you add the official sound when you post, and we don’t use any footage from the music video: the party is generated from scratch.

Side by side

  • Easiest: a one-photo tool. Upload, wait, download.
  • Most control: Higgsfield, if you’re willing to learn it.
  • Cheapest to try: our free prompt on a tool’s free tier. The free guide covers the catches.
  • Best fit for TikTok: anything that makes 9:16 from the start rather than cropping a wide clip. The format guide explains why.
  • Several characters in one shot: Higgsfield. One-photo tools give you a single lead.

Which one to pick

If you want a whole TV cast in the scene and you enjoy tinkering, Higgsfield is the tool the trend grew up on. If you want to experiment for free and don’t mind editing, try CapCut with our prompt.

If you just want yourself or your pet in the party, posted tonight, a one-photo tool is the shortest path. See our examples and pricing, or upload a photo.

Questions

What did people use to make the viral Burning Bridges videos?

Mostly Higgsfield’s Genjutsu tool. Many of the most-viewed versions credit it in their captions. Others use Kling, Seedance-based tools or one-photo sites.

Do I need Higgsfield to do the Burning Bridges trend?

No. You can use any AI video tool that takes a reference image with our free prompt, or a one-photo tool that does the whole thing for you.

Is TryBurningBridges made by Higgsfield or CapCut?

No. We’re an independent fan tool, not affiliated with Higgsfield, CapCut, Drake, OVO Sound, Republic Records or Universal Music Group.

Which option gives a vertical video for TikTok?

CapCut can export 9:16. Many one-photo sites for this trend are widescreen only. Ours lets you pick 9:16 vertical or 16:9 wide before you render.
